Ara Vartanian

Rings to wrap around your finger, or many fingers …

Since founding his eponymous brand in 2002, Brazilian-Armenian designer Ara Vartanian’s edgy design and impeccable craftsmanship has ensured his place in the pantheon of top designers. Born into a family of fine jewellers, knowledge of gems and intricate crafting were instilled at a cellular level in the young Ara.

His signature pieces showcase his continual drive toward innovation. The Octopus ring allows an important (read, large) jewel to be worn snuggly between the index and the ring finger. ‘Hook’ earrings appear to flow rather than hang from the ear. His use of inverted diamonds - the pointed base facing up in spiky relief - have earned him a stellar clientele of fashion’s most influential, including superfan and collaborator, Kate Moss.
