Mark’s inspiration for jewellery came from early contact with gemstones in Australia, where his father mined sapphires. Mark’s inspiration for jewellery came from early contact with gemstones in Australia, where his father mined sapphires. He continues to visit the sapphire mines where he meets the miners and cutters, giving him access to rare and beautiful sapphires.

Now working from his London studio, Mark transforms rough gems using precision faceting and sometimes using freeform shapes. When gem cutting, Mark aims to emphasise the natural beauty, colour and shape of each stone. These gem-cutting skills along with more than 30 years of goldsmithing puts Mark in a unique position to beautifully combine these elements in his jewellery.
