An iconic Cartier 'Panthère' bangle in 18k yellow gold. Designed as panther head, the eyes set with pear-shaped peridot, the nose with onyx and decorated with lozenge-shaped black lacquer spots. Signed Cartier, stamped 750 and numbered. Cartier size 16 (16cm and will fit wrists up to 18cm). Think Cartier Panthère and think Jeanne Toussaint’s iconic three-dimensional creation in 1948 for the Duchess of Windsor - a 116.74 carat cabochon emerald from the Duke’s own collection, surmounted by a gold and onyx panther. Or the 1952, the original Panthère de Cartier bracelet, designed to encircle the wrist, pavé-set with brilliant- and single-cut diamonds and calibré-cut onyx, the eyes set with marquise-shaped emeralds. However, the Panthère in fact first appeared over 30 years earlier, and also around the time Toussaint was first associated with the firm, in a Cartier wristwatch from 1914 and a Cartier greeting card, by illustrator George Barbier, prominently featuring the feline at the feet of an elegantly dressed woman.
Jeanne was an intimate companion of Louis Cartier, (1874-1942), by whom she was affectionately known as ‘Panthère’. Perhaps due to her passion for Big Cats (her apartment in Paris with animal skins and objects decorated with panthers) or perhaps because of her ferocious character.
The Panthère has been part of Cartier’s design DNA for over 100 years, perennially reimagined and weaved into their collections - from jewels to watches and even perfumes.

RETURNS
Omnēque offers complimentary shipping & returns on all UK orders. International orders are subject to delivery charges which will be applied at checkout based on the destination.
We will happily refund or exchange any item purchased from Omnēque within 14 days of receiving your item. Christmas gifts may be returned until the end of January. Returns are not accepted on personalised or bespoke items.
We are happy to replace items if they are the wrong size or if they arrived defective or damaged. If you need to exchange your item for the same item or need a different size, please let us know in your email per the instructions below and we will return a form to you to include in your package.
